This is Becca's friend Lewis,

She can't get access to this blog now because its banned in China and the proxy we have all been using isn't working on her laptop! So she has started a new one...here:

The 12 days of China is no more...

So my 12 days of China hasn't really materialised.
I have been insanely busy though.
My room is being boxed up and sorted for before I go.
It feels really weird either putting my life in boxes or in the bin.
I also didn't realise I had an entire box of fancy dress items!
Lydia (my best friend) would definitely be proud : )
So I leave in 9 days.
That is a bizarre thought.
I took my Mum and Dad out for a meal yesterday, which was lovely.
: )
Again, I feel so lucky to be venturing to the other side of the world, and so proud that I have made this happen all by myself.
Eeeeek!

On the first day of China...

I have just  had a brainwave.
seeing as there are only twelve days left, I will re-create the 12 days of Christmas, except it will  be the 12 days of China.
: )

'On the first day of China, this is what happened. My currency was delivered to me'

12 DAYS.

I think the title says everything.
That is all the days I have left.
I say every time, I have so much to buy.
BUT IT IS TRUE!
I buy one thing, and then I need two more things!
My list is actually never-ending.
BUT I WILL GET THERE.
: )
I have started the looooong process of trying to sort my room out.
It will take me forever, I never realised how much I have!
It also saddens me that I only have to more shifts left at work : (
I am actually going to miss the pub.
BUT.
I am going to have the most amazing time, and I definitely cannot wait.
Every time I try and express how much I want to go, it just comes out in a babble and a smile.
HA.
So here goes, blah blah blah so excited blah blah blah : )

Holy moly, three weeks.

I AM ACTUALLY GOING TO CHINA.
This may seem like a 'pointless' statement, but it really hit me last night that I am leaving the UK and travelling to China.
The reason this thought suddenly sprung into my mind, was whilst I was walking home last night from work.
I only have two more working weeks left, and it made me realise how lucky I am to be travelling and experiencing something that I can say, yes, I did that myself.

The last time I posted anything, (aside from the pictures), I was in the process of buying things that I need.
The list has gone down significantly now, as I only have to buy clothes, and smaller items, such as a first aid kit and insect repellent etc.
Oh and my currency.
But that is when I know how much money left over I will have!

These THREE weeks are going to go by so fast, so I apologise in advance if my posts dwindle or stop for a short time, but I have a lot to cram into these weeks!

The details (in pictures)

I thought  I would put a very small selection of pictures up to show exactly where I am staying and the types of scenery I will see whilst I am there.
: )

I'm based in the Yunnan Province (the light green one in the bottom left). It is the sixth largest province in China, and the whole south-west in general is renowned for its beautiful scenery and climate, in particular Kunming, which is the capital of the province.

Here is a typical view of rice fields that I may see during my stay. As you can see, it is very green and full of life!

Here is a  panoramic view of Simao, taken from the edge of the city. You can see in the background all the rolling hills and outline of the land.

The clock is ticking...

So 31 days.
I've brought a travel rucksack, and yes, it is nearly as big as me. It should be amusing to say the least when I'm trying to walk/ get a train/ do anything that requires movement, as I fear I will topple over and be stuck like that forever.
HA.
I can tell I'm boring people at work. Every sentence seems to be about China, and the thing is, I DO NOT CARE!
I cannot wait to finally get there and experience something that will be amazing and so worth every hour I've spent working towards it!
Although I've met everyone from the UK who's going, and they are all lovely, I haven't been able to meet my partner, Odette, who lives in Australia, due to the vast distance (obviously).

I've spoken to her a couple of times, and she also seems lovely : )

So now, I have the 'more boring' parts to sort out, for example, adaptors; all the paperwork I will need to take and money matters.
It's fine.
There is still time.
Just...
: )
